In 1868, Jean Tobler, father of Theodor Tobler, owned a confectionery shop in Bern, Switzerland. Initially sourcing chocolate from other manufacturers, the soaring demand led Jean Tobler to establish his own chocolate factory in 1899, known as "Fabrique de Chocolat Berne, Tobler & Cie," with his sons. In 1908, Theodor Tobler and Emil Baumann, his cousin, introduced the iconic triangular TOBLERONE chocolate bar. Its unique recipe, distinctive shape, and recognizable logo set it apart. "TOBLERONE" cleverly combines "Tobler" with "Torrone," the Italian term for honey and almond nougat. Celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2008, TOBLERONE remains a cherished tradition, offering over a century of meticulously crafted chocolate enjoyment from the Toblerone family.
